Shangri La 05:33
I got tangerines And here’s the scene: I got the light just right And the Beatles in the kitchen And it’s a coup d’etat in Shangri La The instruments are playing But something’s missing   Saturday, it plays me to the side And asks me to think of you and hide   In the folds of who I want you to be Another dime store mystery intrigues me What can I see from this trampoline when rise and fall and distance blurs my vision?   On Saturday I’ll think of you and hide Stealing moments, playing in my mind   Do you know that ever after’s here right now and I’m still back here?

"Shiny New Thing" Daniel Gallo (drawing the sky music, BMI)   I touched your skin Heard the story within you sing About all the sailors coming round And you so alive I couldn’t keep it inside In the ways we fall down Oh, the ways we fall down // I’ll be your shiny new thing ‘Til I stop shining The light of your days ‘Til we grow sick of trying Or ’til we live with the crazies Or we’re pushing up daisies Or slide into the steep sea With the angels below   So when I’m crawling deep into your sea Pull you close to me The places, well they sometimes confound But baby I’ll stay When it all falls away So don’t go leaving me now Oh no, don’t you go leaving me now   I’ll be your shiny new thing ‘Til I stop shining The light of your days ‘Til we grow sick of trying Or ’til we live with the crazies Or we’re pushing up daisies Or slide into the steep sea With the angels below   I’ll be the bread in your mouth Poetry on the table The one who remembers To weave all the fables Like the one about the lost son Who took things from everyone And when he found that he had none They welcomed him home   When we fall to the side all that’s left of you Is just shadows and light and the blue splintered shade Of memories on parade And we hope that the skies will be kind to us And shelter in the dust of the glow of the day Memories on parade   So as we stand on the edge of our stories dear Things to keep us near I can’t recall all I’ve said and done There’s only one rhyme my watch sings About the time So if you’ll just hear me now Oh, if you’ll just hear me now I’ll be your shiny new thing ‘Til I stop shining The light of your days ‘Til we grow sick of trying Or ’til we live with the crazies Or we’re pushing up daisies Or slide into the steep sea With the angels below

Sunshine in Disguise Daniel Gallo (drawing the sky music, BMI)   Three o’clock in the morning I was blinded without warning by your light While the birds were all sleeping and time had done its keeping I couldn’t deny While heaven’s moon was black and blue I saw the holy light in you Dancing down the avenue To the song, the silk, the truth of you You are, you will, you’re glowing still You’re the sunshine in disguise And you say, “Oh we’re just stumbling” And you say, “Oh, so let’s just stumble into something good… and kick it along while we’re singing along, kick it along till the morning like we should.” Oh, just like we should.   Cars are painting pictures Weaving headlights in the night While the birds don’t think of waking And time has done its taking, we pass on by All those souls sleeping in the alleyways They’re dreaming of another day Why don’t we offer up these hearts to pray To see us in a better way? Because we are, we will, we’re glowing still We’re the sunshine in disguise   Hey, don’t this love feel like your favorite song? I can taste the sunshine in your voice when you’re singing along Hey, don’t this love feel like your favorite song? So let’s stay and dance all of our prayers until the dawn   See the stars In your eyes How they rise A million suns As I breathe you I wonder what all this means to you         This love is for the streets and alleyways This love is full of rain and cloudy days And when I see you, I lift a thirsty hand and I reach you And that solitary moment in time Brings these weary eyes into a smile But we can only breathe here for a while So let’s dance Oh, let’s dance into the morning sun

Paint the Stars Halie Loren & Daniel Gallo (Jammin Salmon Music, ASCAP/drawing the sky music, BMI)   We sing to the night in whispers Drink with our fingertips The forgotten softness Of a life beyond the maddening grip Of days, the crush, A ceaseless world always waiting   The veil of darkness rises To meet another dawn I see shadows in your eyes The sorrow of a moment gone But we’re rich in time So why mark the hours?   When I can paint the stars Under your ceiling Make cricket sounds Until you get the feeling Forever isn’t far If the spirit moves you Lay your body down Let it sing right through you   We hear poems in the silence Taste the ocean in the sand Find mystery within the Cracks upon this barren land So trust these hands And the magic they know   I can paint the stars Under your ceiling Make cricket sounds Until you get the feeling Forever isn’t far If the spirit moves you Lay your body down…   Melt away ‘Til the colors bleed into the Empty space ‘Til there’s nothing left but light in All its shades Filling you with devastating joy   I can paint the stars Under your ceiling Make cricket sounds Until you get the feeling Forever isn’t far If the spirit moves you Lay your body down… Let me sing Oh, Let me sing Let it sing right through you Let me sing right through you

about

halie and the moon's 2nd EP, "A Million Suns: vol. 1", brings you beautiful soundscapes infused with bright imagery and warm, infectious grooves - in many ways, a sunnier, more playful counterpoint to the mellow crystalline of HATM's debut EP "Blue Transmissions: vol. 1" (December 2015), while retaining the same soulful vulnerability that weaves throughout the band's characteristic sound.
