written by Daniel Gallo; drawing the sky music (BMI)
lyrics
He spoke you into the world
on the edge of his tongue, you see...
he was a crestfallen tapestry
And the silk of you
wove something true
when you came over the hill,
tattooed in your summer dress,
and he stumbled to profess...
‘cause sometimes the words,
they escape us
when the light
comes to save us.
And You...
You...
He wrote you into the blue
on the edges of the sky, you see... pulled treasure from a deep green sea, and the world held you
like something true
when you rose over the hill,
a story from a stolen dream,
dancing moonlight on the tapestry... but could he believe
in something so true?
Only light,
light can escape through.
And You...
You...
You...
You...
He spoke you
into the world.

This is perhaps Halie Loren's best album to date. The variety of styles, and the songwriting, are excellent. I have been a fan since she did the Port Au Prince Intl Jazz Festival a couple years ago. This album transcends genres. todd1049
A fantastic synthpop EP from Haleluya Hailu that pairs delightfully fizzy instrumentation with gorgeous vocal melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 5, 2021
Elizabeth Morris of Allo Darlin’ returns with a new group! “Winter Sun” is a tender blend of pastoral folk and diary-like lyrics. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 8, 2019
