halie and the moon's first full-length album, "Blue Transmissions: vol. 1 & 2", immerses itself in a world of ephemeral beauty, love, and sweet melancholy in equal measures. "Otherworldly yet intimate, their aesthetic is a kind of catch-and-release, grounded in pop smarts and yet forever urging itself into the firmament. The result is a symphonic, atmospheric sound that is no less mysterious and thrilling for being entirely accessible." (Rick Levin, Eugene Weekly, 5/4/17).
6 never-before-recorded songs combine with 4 re-mixed and re-mastered tracks featured on the band's debut EP "Blue Transmissions: vol. 1" (released 12/8/15) to create a fully-realized body of work representing these musical "Blue Transmissions" in all their myriad forms.

Sunday
Written by Daniel Gallo (drawing the sky music, BMI)
You could almost taste the sky
Walk the hardest mile
Strain to see the blue
You, an intimate design
Painted in my mind
Fallen from the new
True, the colors fade in time
Dance across the lines
Strain to find a rule
... Beauty: You can’t save me
And then it’s Sunday
And all the saints are falling through the ceiling
I think I’d rather play out on the freeway
Or tune out all the noise and hang the D.J.s
Tomorrow
Lofts in on the curtains in the kitchen
Breaking every promise of the mood that I’m in
Then it’s Sunday again
These words
Stagger through the air
Blindly, without care
Crashing into you
I could almost taste the sky
Walk the hardest mile
Just to be with you
You can’t know what that means
You who’ve never seen
A sky so very blue
... Only you can save me
And then it’s Sunday
And all the saints are falling through the ceiling
I think I’d rather play out on the freeway
Or tune out all the noise and hang the D.J.s
Tomorrow
Lofts in on the curtains in the kitchen
Breaking every promise of the mood that I’m in
Then it’s Sunday again
You could almost taste the sky
Walk the hardest mile
You, an intimate design
Painted in my mind
This is perhaps Halie Loren's best album to date. The variety of styles, and the songwriting, are excellent. I have been a fan since she did the Port Au Prince Intl Jazz Festival a couple years ago. This album transcends genres. todd1049
